Frequently Asked Questions

Practical information about booking and travelling with us — arranged by topic. If your question is not covered here, a short WhatsApp message usually settles it fastest.

General & Booking

Send us a message via WhatsApp or submit the enquiry form with your date, pickup point, destination and the number of passengers. You receive a suggested plan together with a complete quote. The booking is only fixed once you confirm the details directly with us.

During busy periods — summer, the Advent weeks and major events — several days' notice makes preferred departure times much easier to secure. Outside high season, shorter notice is often workable. Send your dates whenever you have them and you will get an honest answer on availability.

Frequently yes, depending on what is already committed that day. WhatsApp is the quickest way to check — include your pickup point, destination and preferred time. You will get a realistic answer rather than an automatic yes.

Confirmations go out in writing, by WhatsApp message or email. They set out the date, time, meeting point, driver contact details and the agreed price, so everything is settled before the travel day rather than negotiated on the doorstep.

Yes. Routing, timing, stops and lunch breaks are all adjustable before departure — and most things can still be adjusted during the day itself. Tell us your priorities when enquiring and the route is built around them rather than around a fixed programme.

Transfers

Yes. Collections at Salzburg Airport (SZG) are timed to your actual landing rather than an estimate, and the meeting point in the terminal is agreed in advance. Share your flight number when booking so the pickup follows your real arrival, including any delay.

Yes, all journeys run door-to-door — hotels, guesthouses, apartments and the rail station within and around Salzburg. The exact meeting point is agreed beforehand, whether that is reception, a street door or a platform. There are no shared pickups and no other passengers.

Yes, this is one of our regular long-distance routes — roughly three hours door-to-door depending on traffic. It is a popular alternative to the train when travelling with luggage, and an intermediate stop can usually be added along the way. These routes are quoted individually; see the transfers overview.

Yes. Hallstatt is reached in around two hours depending on route and traffic, and stops such as St. Wolfgang or Bad Ischl can be included en route. If you would rather make a full day of the lakes region, our Hallstatt & Lake District tour covers the same ground at an easier pace.

Yes — a lake village between cities or a viewpoint along the route is usually easy to arrange. Mention desired stops when booking so timing and price reflect them accurately; short spontaneous pauses are generally possible too.

Yes. Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest are among our established day trips — see the Eagle's Nest & Berchtesgaden tour. Further cross-border journeys, such as collections at Munich Airport, can be requested. Carry passports on these days, since the route crosses the border twice.

Capacity depends on the vehicle assigned, which is chosen based on both passenger and luggage counts — that is why we ask for both when quoting. Standard suitcases are straightforward; skis, golf bags and strollers are all manageable when we know about them beforehand.

Private Tours

Yes — the vehicle and driver are reserved for your group alone, with no strangers joining and no coach-style commentary schedule. Pricing is per vehicle rather than per person, which is why couples, families and small groups all travel the same way.

Yes. Linger somewhere that interests you, skip what does not, add a photo stop — the plan bends around the day. Weather, crowds and opening hours change, and the driver confirms feasibility locally so nothing promised turns out not to be possible.

You decide. The times shown in our sample itineraries are realistic starting points, not limits — two or three unhurried hours in Hallstatt suits many guests, while others prefer a shorter look and more lakeside stops. Your preference is discussed during planning and honoured on the road.

Yes — local knowledge is part of the service. Recommendations cover lunch spots suited to your taste and budget, quieter viewpoints away from the coaches, and where the light falls best at a given hour. Table reservations can be made for you on request.

Families

Yes — child seats and booster seats are provided when requested in advance. Include each child's age when booking so the correct seats are fitted before pickup. It is a routine part of family bookings, not a special arrangement.

Strollers travel without difficulty when declared in advance, alongside the rest of the luggage. Routes adapt well to children — lake stops instead of long museum visits, shorter walking stretches, and pacing that allows for smaller legs. Tell us the ages and we shape the day accordingly.

Seasonal & Alpine Travel

Yes. Winter season brings regular transfers to ski regions such as Kitzbühel, Zell am See and Saalbach, as well as airport runs in snowy conditions. Ski bags and equipment travel fine when declared at booking, and early-morning departures or evening returns after a day on the slopes are normal business here.

Journeys are planned around current road and weather reports, and vehicles operate in line with Austrian winter road requirements. Occasionally an alpine route is simply impractical in deep winter — in that case we say so plainly and propose alternatives rather than take chances on a mountain pass.

Several. The Eagle's Nest operates only from roughly mid-May to late October, mountain railways and boat services run mainly through the summer months, and high alpine roads close entirely in winter. Tell us your travel date and we confirm honestly which parts of a route are actually possible then.

Payment & Practical Information

Payment method and timing are agreed individually as part of your confirmation, before the day of travel. This website does not process payments and nothing is charged automatically — the arrangement is made personally when your booking is confirmed.

Your quote covers the private vehicle, driver and planning. Admissions — palace interiors, cable cars, boat rides, the Eagle's Nest shuttle bus — and meals are paid separately unless something different has been specifically agreed. We are glad to reserve tables or advise on tickets ahead of time.

With a flight number we follow arrivals and move the pickup accordingly — no renegotiation required while you are still in the air. Message us if you spot a delay posted, and the collection adjusts around reality rather than the original timetable.

Plans change — contact us by WhatsApp or email as early as you can and amendments are handled personally, subject to availability. Any conditions attached to your booking are stated clearly at confirmation. Cancellation and amendment terms are confirmed with your booking, never invented afterwards.
